For over 20 years, Leon Shearer has walked alongside those locked away, written off, or struggling to find a way forward. From the harsh realities of prison cells to the hidden battles fought in our communities, his work has been about one thing: believing in people when the world tells them they don’t matter.
Leon has spent a decade inside the prison system. Not as an inmate, but as a force for change. He has worked with individuals that many would call lost causes. He has helped them find hope, purpose, and the possibility of a future beyond their past. His impressive social work has brought new hope to families in crisis, young people at risk, and those society too often forgets.
As a CPD-accredited trainer and Fellow of ITOL, Leon has designed and delivered over 15 workshops. He has built projects from the ground up, bringing people together, giving them the tools to change their lives, and proving that no one is beyond redemption.
During the pandemic, when fear and isolation gripped communities, Leon didn’t stand back. He stepped up and organized lifeline services, delivering hundreds of prescriptions, setting up welfare calls, and finding ways to keep hope alive.
With a deep belief in second chances and the power of community, Leon’s talks ignite hope where it’s needed the most. They are a call to action, a reminder that change is possible, and that the smallest act of kindness can rewrite someone’s future.
